RESEARCH INTERESTS & SKILLS
• Areas of interest: complex electronic systems and aspects associated with their materials science, characterization and functionality. Topics include: correlated electron physics, quantum materials, nano-structures, superconductivity, surfaces and interfaces, light-matter interaction.
• Current research: (1) Studies of surfaces and interfaces by nano-optics: optical nano-tomography, dielectric nano-imaging, plasmonics, interface superconductivity; (2) Synthesis and electronic properties of two-dimensional materials; (3) Scanning probe microscopies: instrumentation development and applications.
• Experimental techniques: inelastic light scattering; optical spectroscopy, microscopy and ellipsometry; low energy ion scattering spectroscopy; X-ray diffraction; scanning probe microscopies; transport; electron microscopy; molecular beam epitaxy. Basic clean room experience and familiar with a palette of analytical tools (e.g. SEM, XPS, thin film deposition etc.).
