Dr. A. Benedetto carried out several teaching and support-teaching activities. He delivered half of the lessons of the Course of Physics at the Bachelor Degree in Biotechnology Course at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Messina (in AYs 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011).
He was also tutor of the (i) Physics Course 1A and (ii) Experimental Physics Laboratory Course 1A at the Bachelor Degree in Physics in AY 2009/2010, (iii) Physics Course and (iv) Mathematics Course at the Bachelor Degree in Marine Biology and Ecology in AY 2009/2010.;

2011, Antonio Benedetto, Dr. A. Benedetto received the mention of “Doctor Europaeus” in Physics on 21st March 2011 presenting a thesis entitled Protein Dynamics by Neutron Scattering at Messina University.
2009, Antonio Benedetto, Dr. A. Benedetto won the selection at the National Energy Festival (14-17 Maggio, Lecce) with a project on "Biophysics and Energy Applied Physics".

Dr. Antonio Benedetto is a dedicated scientist whose activity has until now been devoted mainly to the application of neutron scattering techniques, i.e. Elastic (EINS) and Quasi-Elastic (IQENS) Incoherent Neutron Scattering, to characterise dynamical properties of systems of biophysical interest. The conceptual focus of the scientific interests of Dr. A. Benedetto has been represented by the investigation of hydrogen-bonding networks at the interface between water and organic molecules. He is interested, in particular, in understanding both the structure-dynamics-function relationship and the role of hydrogen bonds in bio-systems, and how they affect their dynamics and self-assembly properties. The results of his research have been published in different papers, and have been presented in different conferences and meetings. His last goal is the formulation of an explicative hypothesis on the nature of the protein dynamical transition and on its connection with the strong-to-fragile dynamical crossover in the characteristic time of the protein hydration water.
