Djeane Debora Onthoni
Experienced Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in higher education. Skilled in research and teaching, with a focus on Machine Learning. Prior to my Master's and Ph.D. programs, I gained teaching experience in the Bachelor's program at De La Salle Catholic University Manado, Indonesia, where I taught basic programming, as well as the theory and practice of data structures and algorithms. I hold a Master's and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Engineering from Chang Gung University. My research interests lie in the application of AI for medical data analysis. During my Ph.D., I gained hands-on experience working with real medical image data, including Contrast-CT and non-contrast CT for Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), as well as MRI brain data, through collaboration with the prestigious Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch, Taiwan. Previously, I served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan, where I applied AI to predictive modeling of complex diseases using clinical data, medical imaging, genomics, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) from the UK Biobank and Taiwan Biobank. I also worked as a Research Fellow in the Health Informatics research group at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu, Estonia, where my work focused on applying AI and statistical methods to analyze EHR and genomic data—including polygenic risk scores from the Estonian Biobank—using the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) and integrative data approaches. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University, AP, India, where my responsibilities encompass teaching, research, and university service. I am passionate about continuing my research in Health Data and AI, bringing together interdisciplinary approaches and applying AI to global biobank data to advance data-driven precision medicine in India.
