2007-2010. Chairman: “Stiftelsen Nytt Osebergskip” (The Foundation for the Construction of a Oseberg Ship Replica), Tønsberg, Norway. An organisation dedicated to construction of a scientifically correct replica of the Oseberg Ship, the archetypical viking ship, built in 820 and rediscovered in 1903, but “incorrectly” put together. The ship was successfully launched in 2012.
2003- CEPAL/ECLA United Nations Commission for Latin America, Santiago de Chile. Member of Academic Board for CEPAL Summer Schools.
1996-2001. Accion International, Cambridge, Mass. Member of The President’s Council. Visited microfinance projects in six Latin American countries from 1993-1999.
