Fields of research
ETIS CLASSIFICATION: 4. Natural Sciences and Engineering; 4.2. Geosciences; CERCS CLASSIFICATION: P420 Petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry
ETIS CLASSIFICATION: 4. Natural Sciences and Engineering; 4.2. Geosciences; CERCS CLASSIFICATION: P420 Petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry ; SPECIFICATION: Major field of research – clay minerals, clayey sediments and materials, illite, smectite, kaolinite etc. mineralogy involved studies of clay minerals structures defects and polytypism, and minerals composition – clayey sediments quantitative analyze by Rietveld method (composition specification of complicated polymineral samples of natural sediments and synthetic composites). Clay mineral transformation processes in different environments. Main research methods – X-ray powder diffraction method, differential thermal analyses (DTA), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and Scanning and Transmission microscopy. Studies are based on x-ray powder diffraction data quantitative analyze and specification on clay mineral structures and degree of ordering. Therefore different approaches and variout softwares are used for data calculation.
