We are working on topics: heavy metals removal and valourizing,sludge treatment,fungal processes, wastewater treatment (biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal and valorizing), anaerobic ammonium oxidation process and denitrifying phosphorus removal bacteria for ammonium, phosphorus removal from municipal and sidestream wastewater, microbial fuel cell technology (anammox biocathode), peat usage as building material and humic substances valorizing in peat.
Assessment of waste treatment technologies efficiency (ROS, intermediate compounds for bacteria) and start up in biofilm and suspended systems.
Piloting and full scale wastewater systems dimensioning and start-up
Compost and residual sludge stabilisation, heavy metals removal from sludge and compost using fungi, heavy metals valorizing using fungi, Plant volatiles from different plants at stress conditions
Apparature: Fungal systems,Ion chromatograph, spectrophotometers, wastewater treatment reactors and automatics, controllers, centrifuges, ion selective measuring device, TOC analyzer, central Ar and N2 supply, glow box, nanoparticles analyser, Leica light microscope. Waste analysing tools and methods, pilot reactors (3 m3).Cooperation and consultancy services with Aqua Consult Baltic international company in nutrient removal technology development in pilot and full-scale.

Peamised tegevusvaldkonnad : raskmetallid, väärismetallid,seenekäitlus, reoveepuhastus lämmastiku- fosfori ja süsinikuühenditest, raskmetallide eemaldamine ja väärindamine reoveesettest ja kompostist. Apparatuur mõõtmisteks: Ioonkromatograaf, spektrofotomeetrid, Reoveereaktorid koos automaatikaga, settekäitlusseadmed,kontrollerid, tsentrifuugid, ion selektiivsed mõõtmised, TOC analüsaator, tsentraalse Ar and N2 kasutamise võimalused, glow box, nanoosakeste loendur, Leica valgusmikrokoop. Veekeemia, setete, raskmetalli analüüsi metoodikad ja vahendid, piloot reaktorid (3 m3). Koostöö Aqua Consult Baltic rahvusvahelise ettevõttega pilootseadmete opereerimisel
