In this research project, the application of membrane technology was assessed on natural gas treatment in Iran, from a technical and economic perspective. The results were used in developing technology promotion strategies by various Iranian oil industry incumbents as well.

This project was conducted on the legal, technical, and economic aspects of APG flaring, as one of the most important Green House Gas emission (GHG) sources in Iran. It resulted in a legal and regulation proposal for emission reduction, considering the technical and economic features of the current APG flaring level.
