Kalle Kilk
Over the past decades, my primary research focus has been metabolomics, spanning method development, bioinformatics, and biological as well as clinical interpretation. As the head of the metabolomics core facility at the University of Tartu, Institute of Biomedicine and Translational Medicine, I have been involved in a wide range of collaborative projects. These have included studies on cell cultures, plants, genetic animal models, and wildlife samples. Nevertheless, research involving human subjects and disease models has been the most prevalent, largely due to the university’s close integration with Tartu University Hospital. Currently, the main research areas focus on atherosclerosis, iron metabolism, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
