Juhendamised
Aruandeperioodil on kaitsnud doktoritööd Jevgeni Šklovski (2007) ja Toomas Vinnal (2011).
Juhendamisel on doktorandid.
Martin Raska. Doktorantuuris alates 2012. aastast. Ta on TTÜ esimene tööstusdoktorant ja töötab AS Voltas elektroonikainseneri-tootmisjuhina. Doktoritöö teema on „Suure võimsusega reguleeritavate valgusdioodvalgustite toiteallikad”.
Aleksei Kazakov. Doktorantuuris alates 2011. aastast. Praegu täiendab ennast Inglismaal Nottinghami ülikoolis professor Mark Johnsoni juures. Doktoritöö teema on „Lokaalsete elektrivõrkude juhtimine ja kaitse alalisvoolu ja vahelduvvoolu segatoitel”.
Helar Niilo. Doktorantuuris alates 2010. aastast. Teadur 0,5 kohaga TTÜ-s. Praegu täiendab end Austrias Graz’i tehnikaülikoolis professor Lothar Fickerti juures. Doktoritöö teema on „Paralleel- ja järjestikresonantsi vaheldumisega muundurite kasutamine alalisvoolu kohtvõrkudes”.
Ants Kallaste. Doktorantuuris alates 2007. aastast. Teadur 0,5 kohaga TTÜ-s. Samuti on ta tööl OÜ My!wind’is, mis on OÜ Goliath’i tütarfirma. Need firmad arendavad originaalseid uurdevabasid rõngasgeneraatoriga tuulikuid nii suurtele võimsustele (3 MW ja rohkem) kui ka väikestele võimsustele (5 kW). Ants Kallaste tegeleb rõngasgeneraatorite projekteerimise ja katsetamisega. See töö on ühtlasi tema doktoritöö eksperimentaalne osa. Ants Kallaste on alustanud väitekirja kokkupanemisega ja jõuab kaitsmiseni tõenäoliselt 2013. aasta esimesel poolel.

Õppetööga kaudselt seotud tegevused:
– osalemine Energia ja geotehnika doktorikool II nõukogus (alates 2008. aastast),
– osalemine energeetikateaduskonna nõukogus (2002 kuni 2011),
– osalemine üleülikoolilises bakalaureuse- ja magistritööde hindamiskomisjonis 2010. aasta sügisel,
– arvamused ajakirjanduses hariduse probleemidest ((K. Janson. Liberalism ja suliusk. Sirp. 18. veebr. 2011),
– enesetäiendus (kõrgkooli pedagoogika, elektriautod).

Märkus teadustöö kohta.
Aruandeperioodil oli kaks tegurit, mis mõnel määral alandasid teadustöö publitseeritud tulemust. Need olid uurimistöö kaitseministeeriumi tellimusel (Lep 7067 aastatel 2007 kuni 2009), mille uurimustulemusi ei olnud lubatud publitseerida (riigisaladus) ja administratiivtöö elektrotehnika aluste ja elektrimasinate instituudi direktori ametikohal (2005 kuni 2009).
