- He was elected during 12th International Peat Congress, Tampere, Finland, June 6-11, 2004, for the chairperson of the Commission III on "Utilisation of Peat and Peatlands in Agriculture" of the International Peat Society for 2004-2008.
He is a member of editorial board of two International Journals “Agronomy Research” published by Estonian Agricultural University in Tartu and Mires and Peat.

From 1.09.1991 to 30.03.1992 and from 1.03 to 30.10.1993 he was in Sweden as he was granted a scholarship from the Swedish Institute in Stockholm. Both times he worked in the Department of Chemistry of the Swedish Agriculture University in Uppsala on restructuring of humic acids from soils. As results of his scholarship at the University in Uppsala were published two original papers in Environment International.
For six month since February to August 1997 he was working at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA as a fellow of the Kosciuszko Foundation Scholarship (American-Polish Foundation). At the University of Georgia, Athens (UGA) he worked in the Department of Crop and Soil Science cooperating with and Dr. Miguel L. Cabrera of Crop and Soil Sciences in study on denitrification processes (N2O, CO2) in terrestrial ecosystems.
As results and his study at the UGA were published two original papers in Organic Geochemistry and in Journal of Environment Quality.
From 1988- in Research Center for Agricultural and Forest Environment of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznan, Poland Having a training in determination of organic compounds he has got engaged in project on changes in concentration of biological organic substances (amino acids, phenolic acids, auxines, enzymes, humic and fulvic acids) in light sand soils under continuous cropping of rye and crop rotation. The mean subject of his work was „Impact of continuous cereal cropping on biological active substances in soils”.
In 1999 he defended a habilitation thesis and obtained docent position.
