Peamiseks uurimissuunaks on neuroprotektiivsete ühendite (dihüdropüridiini derivaadid) rakusiseste toimemehhanismide ja neuroprotektiivset toimete väljaselgitamine neurodegeneratsiooni mudelites primaarkultuuridel ja lakuliinidel.

Investigation of the role of prolyl endopeptidase in neurodegeneration in frame of collaborative project “Oligopeptidase inhibitors in brain function and dysfunction: towards new therapeutic strategies for neuroprotection” ( receiving funds from the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) under Grant Agreement No. 223077i) in cellular models.

Investigation of neuroprotective activities of the novel dihydropyridine compounds using animal behavioural models and determination of intracellular mechanisms of their neuroprotective effects in cellular models of neurodegeneration in primary neuronal cultures and cell lines.
