Meike Wulf, BA (Münster), MA (SSEES), PhD (LSE). After gaining her first degree in Politics, Modern History, Journalism, and Cultural Studies, Meike specialized through a Master in Slavonic and East European Studies and subsequently carried out her PhD studies supervised by Anthony D. Smith on “Historical Culture, Conflicting Memories and Identities in Post-Soviet Estonia”. The focus of her postdoctoral research at CEELBAS is on East European Cities. She taught courses on Nationalism, Memory Studies, Qualitative Methods, and Cities at the University of Münster, Uppsala, Konstanz, the LSE, Tallinn, and UCL; and spent research time at the University of Hull, at BEEGS Södertörns, and Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut. From 2009 Meike will be Assistant Professor in Political Culture in Europe at the Universiteit Maastricht, The Netherlands. Research Interests: •Legacy of the war in post-1945 European memory •Commemorative landscapes of post-Soviet and post-socialist societies •Transformation of urban experiences in post-socialist cities (public spaces and civicidentities) •Politicalgenerations.
