I am currently enrolled as a doctoral student of Information Society Technologies at the Institute of Informatics, Tallinn University and am doing a research on Uptake of HCI values, and practices by the software development industry: A comparative investigation of Nordic Europe and the ECOWAS.

My research effort is to achieve a conceptual model of agile human-centred software engineering which reveals the obstacles to HCI and software engineering integration and shows a clear road map to successful and holistic integration. I am also motivated to promote HCI practices in the software development industries of, and among IT practitioners in Estonia and Nigeria. My research interests include Usability Engineering, User Experience, and Human-Centred Design.

I have backgrounds in Computer Science, Information Systems and information Technology, and seven years’ industry experience in IT infrastructure and support (planning, designing, troubleshooting, problem solving, systems upgrade, systems and network infrastructure changes, PC roll outs, server deployments). During his time in the industry, I have designed and deployed server computers and supported information systems such as access control system, and information security management on server-client basis.

I have worked as a systems engineer, an information systems tutor, systems administrator, systems analyst and a computer science lecturer. I have taught notable undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Problem Solving (with focus on algorithm and data structures), Computer Appreciation, Symbolic FORTRAN Programming, Data Communications and Networks, and Use of Microsoft Excel Package. I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (Windows Server 2003), Cisco Certified Network Administrator and ITIL version 3 (foundation) certified. I am a member of the COST Action IC0904.

Since I commenced my studies, I have attended the following training and events:

1. TwinTide AUtumn Training SchOol 2013: REsearch Methods for Human-Computer Interaction (TUTOREM 2013), 4 - 8 November, 2013, Bled, Slovenia

2. World Usability Day, Tallinn University, November, 2013, Tallinn, Estonia,

3. Tallinn Winter School on Experimental Interaction Design, January 13th – 24th, 2014, Tallinn University, Tallinn, Estonia
