Scientific research:

The main focus of research activities is the numerical study of dynamic processes in microstructured solids, metamaterials and nerve fibres. The model equations are systems of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) with dispersion, dissipation and nonlinear terms. Some integral (process memory) and internal variable elements are used in governing PDEs for some problems under investigation. Classification in common European research classification scheme (CERCS): P190

* Solitons in microstructured media and meta-materials.
* Influence of internal degrees of freedom and internal variables on dynamical processes in microstructured solids, meta-materials and nerve fibres.
* Negative group velocity in physically nonlinear microstructured media and meta-materials.
* Mechanical and thermodynamical aspects of nerve pulse propagation.
* Numerical methods for solving systems of nonlinear partial differential equations.
