April-June 1999 - internship in BKG (the German Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy) for adjustment and delivering of the Estonian precise levelling data to the UELN (United European Levelling Network) database
A. Ellmann has developed and contributed to the development of two industrial/research property items:
a) a high-resolution geoid model EST-GEOID2011 (as a research product of the ETF7356 grant, led by Prof. Artu Ellmann) was officially imposed by the Estonian Ministry of Environment (decree no 64, dated as 26.10.2011) to be a part of the Estonian national geodetic datum. The EST-GEOID2011 model was widely used by the surveying industry of Estonia as "the official national geoid" for converting the GNSS-derived heights into normal (sea level related) heights.
b) In connection with Estonia switching away from the obsolete Baltic 1977 height system (where the heights are given with respect to the Kronstadt tide gauge zero) to the European Vertical Reference System (adopting the Amsterdam sea level zero as initial) a new official geoid model EST-GEOID2017 has been delivered by A. Ellmann’s research group. Starting from the fall 2017 this geoid model is a part of the Estonian national geodetic datum. The new geoid model is licensed to the government agencies and the private entrepreneurs.

A. Ellmann has developed and contributed to the development of two industrial/research property items:
a) a high-resolution geoid model EST-GEOID2011 (as a research product of the ETF7356 grant, led by Prof. Artu Ellmann) was officially imposed by the Estonian Ministry of Environment (decree no 64, dated as 26.10.2011) to be a part of the Estonian national geodetic datum. The EST-GEOID2011 model was widely used by the surveying industry of Estonia as "the official national geoid" for converting the GNSS-derived heights into normal (sea level related) heights.
b) In connection with Estonia switching away from the obsolete Baltic 1977 height system (where the heights are given with respect to the Kronstadt tide gauge zero) to the European Vertical Reference System (adopting the Amsterdam sea level zero as initial) a new official geoid model EST-GEOID2017 has been delivered by A. Ellmann’s research group. Starting from the fall 2017 this geoid model is a part of the Estonian national geodetic datum. The new geoid model is licensed to the government agencies and the private entrepreneurs.
