Uuriti planeeritava Kunda puitmassitehase merre juhitavate heitvete edasist levikut lokaalsete hoovuste ja lainetuse rezhiimi mojul. Anti lühiülevaade Kunda lahe piirkonna jääoludest, toodi välja merejää esinemise pohikarakteristikud. Lihtsa veekvaliteedi mudeli baasil analüüsiti etteantud reostuskoormuse transformeerumist suubla lähikonnas ning vee optiliste omaduste ja veealuse valgusrezhiimi toenäolisi muutusi, mis omakorda mojutavad merepohja taimestikku ning loomastikku. Analüüsiti heitvete nii otsest kui kaudset moju kalastikule, sh. kudetingimuste muutumisest tingitud mojusid. Hinnati ka tehnoloogilise veevotu moju Kunda joe alamjooksu veerezhiimile ja kalastikule.
The study was performed to evaluate the transport of waste water from the planned Kunda pulp factory in the sea, caused by local circulation and wave regimes. Ice conditions off Kunda were briefly analysed and main characteristics of ice occurrence were pointed out. The transformation of wastes in the vicinity of the outlet was studied based on a simple water quality model. Probable changes in optical properties of water and underwater light conditions, which could have some impact on sea bottom flora and fauna, were analysed. Both the direct and indirect (through changes in spawning conditions) influence of waste water on fishes was assessed. The impact of the intake of technological water from the Kunda River on fish fauna was estimated.
