The purpose of this project is to develop a tool from the results obtained from an on-going doctoral research. The doctoral research is focused on improving human-computer interaction (HCI) practice in software development companies. The research is important due to the rapid changes we always witness in our Societies. For instance, our societies have become information societies and software systems now dictate how people live, interact and do businesses. Unfortunately many software development companies still develop software without considering the effects on human cognitive abilities and user preference. The proposed tool would serve as a “Customer Relationship Management” (CRM) tool, which would be hosted in the university web domain and is used by software development companies anywhere in the World. The benefits of the tools are enormous: The proposed tool positions the university in a way to help address industrial needs, as there could be a facilitation of strategic engagement with software development companies. HCI master’s students can as well be positioned in a way to work on industrial needs, based on this facilitation. The goals of the proposed tool are twofold: 1.To help software companies, especially small and medium-sized to increase their awareness of HCI and have reflective opportunity to mature their HCI knowledge. 2.The lead professionals to explore HCI concepts, techniques and methods.
