Estonian people and the Stalinism. Past and Present
2.2. Monograafiad (sisestatud enne 1. juulit 2014. a.)
In the first chapters, K. Haav critically analyzes the essence of the Stalinist violant regime and its Chauwinist assimilation policy. He outlines an original model of the Empire of Evil. The Communist oligarchy rejects human rights, combines lies and violance, and manipulates with authoritarian masses. The chapters rely mostly on Estonian and Russian sources. In the last chapters, K. Haav develops an original theoretical framework for national relations and conciousness. This framework was used in empirical representative investigation of 730 Estonians and 655 Non-Estonians in 1986. The investigation was the first to reveal the national depression of Estonians. It also first revealed main types of national integration of Non-Estonians with Estonian language and culture. The data enable comparisons of changes in national attitudes and relations of Estonians and Non-Estonians in 1986 and today.
